Cockney Rejects Join The Rejects: The Zonophone Years (1979-1981)
Released on 29th August, this album covers a little over two short, but prolific years for The Cockney Rejects. Key to the Oi! scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Cockney Rejects formed in 1978 & signed to EMI’s Zonophone label in 1979.
This three disc set features more than 60 tracks, and includes the albums:
- The Power And The Glory (also released in 1981) demonstrated a move away from their punk and Oi! roots in favour of more rockier and melodic sounds.
The box set also includes bonus material, including:
- rare and otherwise unavailable single A and B sides
- two previously unreleased sessions recorded for Radio 1′s John Peel show
- four previously unreleased demo tracks
- liner notes from founding member Micky Geggus
